Cruise Ship Jobs - Disney Cruise Line ProfileDownload The Cruise Ship Jobs Guide Now! A typical Disney product, new innovative cruise ships and cruises designed to please both children and adults. Disney is also offering cruises combined with three or four days stay at Walt Disney World as a package, which guarantees that the cruises will be sold out. When Disney execs decided to enter the cruise business they looked back to the 1920's for inspiration. As a result, both Disney Magic® and Disney Wonder® cruise ships resemble luxurious ocean liners of a bygone era that just happen to have all the modern bells and whistles. Best of all, Disney Cruise Line® proves that "elegant" and "family friendly" don't have to be mutually exclusive terms. Although both cruise ships - Disney Magic® and Disney Wonder® have the same basic themes, they offer very different itinerary options. Built in 1998 by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, the Disney Magic can hold approximately 2,400 passengers. Since the summer of 2000, the Disney Magic has been offering weekly cruises to Castaway Cay and multiple Caribbean islands. In June 2005, the Disney Magic was dispatched to the West Coast in honor of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. Beginning April 24, 2010, the Disney Magic is scheduled to return to the Mediterranean, with available 10 and 11-night vacations sailing from Barcelona.[8] In addition, Disney Cruise Line will be offering 12-night Northern European capitals itineraries, sailing from Dover. The Magic will be making two 14-night repositioning cruises, sailing from Port Canaveral to Barcelona on April 10, 2010, and from Barcelona to Port Canaveral on September 18, 2010. Also, there will be two 8-day repositioning cruises, from Barcelona to Dover on June 5, 2010, returning on July 30, 2010. The Disney Wonder alternates between 3- and 4-night cruises. Visiting Nassau and Disney's own private island Castaway Cay, with the 4-night cruise offering an additional day at sea. From May 30 through August 22, 2010, the "Disney Wonder" will sail on 5-night cruises alternating between an itinerary that adds an additional stop at Castaway Cay and an itinerary that adds a stop at Key West. When the new Disney Dream begins its sailings out of Port Canaveral in 2012, the Disney Wonder will be relocated to Los Angeles, California.[3] The arrangement will be for two years, with a potential extension for three additional years. On September 11, 2009 Disney Cruise Line announced that the Wonder will have 18, 7 night sailings to Alaska during the 2012 summer.. From employees point of view working for Disney has always been fun and their cruise line is no exception. Lots of shipboard job positions in the entertainment and children activities fields could be found on these cruise ships for sure.
